When,
in a tourist promotional booklet, I read "the Lake Michigan
coast is one of the world’s most beautiful shorelines,
encompassing some of the nation’s top beaches" I was ready to
dismiss the statement as a typical exaggeration of tourist
propaganda. However, after the day before yester- day visit of three
of those beaches, I agree that they really are natural gems.
I
never saw so much of so fine send, contrasting the deep blue waters
of Michigan Lake on one side and protruding into the dense
vegetation covering the sand dunes on the other side. Extending
north and south for dozens of miles. And so rich animal life on the
sand dunes along the coast, some on the beaches too.
