Recent
leaflet from the Ann Arbor Public Services proudly reports, among
other great achievements of local officials, the installation of 130
trees (see the partial scan on the right, top).
Would
you believe it? The installation of trees! In my not so short life I’ve
planted quite a few trees, I took care of them, I grew up with them.
It never occurred to me that I could simply install them.
Should
we expect other improvements in the description of our relationship
with the world around us? Like, for instance, that vegetarians edit
vegetables and omnivores download animals for food?
In
the meantime, Webster should be preparing the new "fully
revised and updated" dictionary. The example on install
(right, bottom) clearly shows that Webster editors lag behind Ann
Arbor Public Services.
