Organic or

non-organic

Pests and plant diseases are inevitable, so they say. Pests and plant diseases spoil my early morning coffee - I walk around my garden every morning, five-thirty to six, with a coffee mug in my hands.

So far we are strictly organic, no chemicals, no pesticides, but a view like one on the right shakes my organic principles.

True, I don’t make living by gardening, I could proba- bly just share the garden with other life forms. No way, says my selfish gardening spirit and I’m about to start an arms race for the means of mass pests distraction. There are organic alterna- tives to most garden pesticides, like companion planting, I know. Maybe, if you can live with the less effective means and the extra work.
