Should academics examine themselves? It may look logical (examination is their business) and even justified (like, let those who err, let them correct their mistakes), but it’s not necessarily smart. Self-examination may reinforce internal selection; however, the evolution of academics as a species is of profound social interest. Academics’ examination is too serious task to be left to academics alone.
