Ten years of my Honda CRV (2) In ten years, I spent US$ 5114.04 on 3180.95 gallons of regular gas. Do I have a sense for that volume? Gas is distributed by cistern-trucks of volume from 5 to 10 thousand gallons, so I can guess the size of gas I’ve burned. But remembering that close to 200 million cars and trucks are rolling on US highways, I can’t perceive the total amount of gas burned daily. What I can understand, however, is that lovely relationship with the Arab oil. Sometimes it requires a war or two, which is to be expected in any marriage of convenience. Some history of the relationship is built into the price I was paying over last ten years for a gallon of gas. |
